the perfect choice

I was in the midst of a major remodel to a 1874 farm house when I came to thinking about insulation. A few years back we had put in reflective insulation in the attic but had no insulation to cover the joists. I didn't want this or that sort of insulation because of toxicity concerns. But I kept coming back to thinking we should do something on the joists. One day in cruising around on the web, I came upon Havelock and wool. It was and is the perfect choice. It's hard to say how degrees of heat the wool spared us from in this hot summer, but a considered guess is 15-20 degrees F cooler in our house. We are so pleased.

Best "stuff" EVER!

We needed a product for our van build that we could stuff into all the little nooks and crannies and this is the product! No worries about bugs, moisture, smell, chemicals, or fiberglass.

We are super in love with Havelock! Our future plans include building a cabin and we'll be using Havelock wool for all of our insulation needs.

Look no further! Seriously. This is the product, this is the company. And a huge shout out to Peter for all his help. You guys are truly the best!

Better than you can imagine

I know that it seems strange to say that about insulation. It installs easier than any other batt insulation, no gloves, no mask, cuts easily. As soon as you install it, your room is quiet and comfortable. I installed it in my dining room that is 3 walled and fully open on the fourth into the living room. There is a noticeable difference between the two rooms. The only difference is Havelock wool insulation in the dining room and the fiberglass insulation that hasn't been replaced in the living room.

Excellent alternative to conventional

Everything about this product is wonderful, from ordering to installation to enjoying the clean energy efficiency. The insulation fit perfectly making for an easy and efficient installation. I love the light earthy scent it gives off, making our studio even that much more pleasant. Our studio stayed warm in the winter and keeps a nice moderate temperature in the hot summer months. We will be using this product as we continue updating our home. It’s a must!

Northern California Coastal Home Deep Energy Retrofit

We installed over 10000 board feet of Havelock Wool insulation in roof attic of existing home in California to replace poorly installed fiberglass batt insulation. We compared wool to new fiberglass batt, low GWP closed cell foam, blown-in cellulose, fiberglass and rock-wool and decided wool was best product IF we sealed the envelope between home and attic. After sealing the attic and rest of conditioned envelope, we achieved an ACH below 2 which was confirmed by U.C.Davis as part of one of their ongoing energy research projects. Wool turned out to be EASY to install and best of all, easy to work with. In particular, we could grab chunks of wool with our bare hands and fill up holes that could not be properly insulated with a batt product. Not having to wear monkey suits, respirators, and gloves improved our productivity greatly and the easy "chunking" helped create a more fully insulated surface with much less gaps, voids, and gaping areas we all see with other types of insulation...............Tim Twomey, P.E., HERS, CEM, CEA, B,C-20.
